• CANopen to Serial Protocol Conversion:

Supports popular serial protocols including Modbus RTU and ASCII, with configurable data mapping to align with specific application requirements. Transmission latency is <20ms, ensuring responsiveness in time-sensitive control tasks.
• Multi-Serial Interface Support:
  Equipped with versatile serial ports to connect diverse devices:

• 1x RS-232 port (DB9 connector): Supports data rates up to 115.2 kbps, suitable for short-distance (up to 15m) point-to-point communication with devices like HMIs, barcode scanners, or legacy controllers.

• 1x Combined RS-422/RS-485 port (terminal block): Supports data rates up to 115.2 kbps, enabling multi-drop networks (up to 32 devices) over longer distances (up to 1200m for RS-485) for connecting sensors, meters, valves, or remote I/O modules.

• CANopen Interface Capabilities:
  Integrates a standard CANopen interface (D-Sub 9-pin connector, optically isolated) with:

• Auto-adaptive baud rates: 10 kbps to 1 Mbps (covers all common CANopen network speeds).

• Support for up to 127 CANopen nodes (when operating as a CANopen master) or direct connection to a CANopen master (when operating as a slave).

• Built-in LSS (Layer Setting Services) for easy node configuration (e.g., setting node IDs, baud rates) without physical dip switches.

• Configuration & Diagnostics:
  Configurable via Hilscher’s SYCON.net software, allowing users to:

• Map CANopen PDO/SDO data to serial protocol frames and vice versa.

• Import EDS (Electronic Data Sheet) files for CANopen devices to ensure plug-and-play compatibility.

• Perform diagnostics via LED indicators (power, CANopen activity, serial communication, faults) and log error data for quick troubleshooting.

• Power & Protection Mechanisms:
  Features 24V DC ±6V power input (Mini-Combicon connector) with reverse polarity protection, supporting typical current consumption of 80mA. Over-voltage and over-current protection safeguard the gateway and connected equipment from electrical faults.

• Incompatibility:
  Not designed for Ethernet-based protocols (e.g., PROFINET, EtherNet/IP) or other fieldbuses (e.g., PROFIBUS DP, DeviceNet) without additional hardware. Does not support CAN FD (only standard CAN 2.0A/B).
