  • CANopen Interface Capabilities:
    Integrates a standard CANopen interface (D-Sub 9-pin connector, isolated) with:
    • Auto-adaptive baud rates: 10 kbps to 1 Mbps (covers all common CANopen network speeds).

    • Support for up to 127 CANopen nodes (when operating as CANopen master) or direct connection to a CANopen master (when operating as slave).

    • Built-in LSS (Layer Setting Services) for easy node configuration (e.g., setting node IDs, baud rates) without physical dip switches.

  • Ethernet Interface Configuration:
    Equipped with 2x 10/100 Mbps RJ45 Ethernet ports (auto-negotiation, full/half-duplex) to support flexible network topologies:
    • Daisy-chain: Reduces cable usage by connecting multiple gateways or Ethernet devices in sequence (ideal for linear production lines).

    • Star: Direct connection to Ethernet switches for stable, high-reliability networks (suitable for distributed control systems).

  • Flexible Configuration & Diagnostics:
    • Configurable via Hilscher’s SYCON.net software: Allows mapping CANopen PDO/SDO data to Ethernet protocol data points, importing EDS (Electronic Data Sheet) files for CANopen devices, and saving/loading configuration templates for batch deployment.

    • Real-time diagnostics: Monitors CANopen bus status (e.g., bus off, error passive), Ethernet link quality, and power supply stability; outputs fault codes to upper-level systems and triggers LED alerts (power, CANopen activity, Ethernet status, faults) for on-site troubleshooting.

  • Power & Protection Mechanisms:
    Features dual 24V DC power inputs (reverse polarity protected) with a wide voltage range of 18-30V DC, adapting to unstable industrial power supplies. Over-voltage (OVP) and over-current (OCP) protection safeguard the gateway and connected devices from electrical faults (e.g., short circuits, voltage spikes).
