• PROFIBUS to Serial Protocol Conversion:
  Facilitates real-time bidirectional data translation between PROFIBUS DP (supports master and slave modes, compliant with DP V0/V1) and serial communication standards (RS-232 and RS-485). Supports common serial protocols such as Modbus RTU, ASCII, and user-defined protocols, with configurable data mapping to align with specific application requirements. Transmission latency is <3ms, ensuring responsiveness in time-sensitive control tasks.

• Dual Serial Interface Support:
  Equipped with versatile serial ports to accommodate diverse device connections:

• 1x RS-232 port (DB9 connector): Supports data rates up to 115.2 kbps, suitable for short-distance (up to 15m) point-to-point communication with devices like barcode scanners or local HMIs.

• 1x RS-485 port (terminal block): Supports data rates up to 115.2 kbps, enabling multi-drop networks (up to 32 devices) over longer distances (up to 1200m) for connecting sensors, valves, or remote I/O modules.

• PROFIBUS DP Interface:
  Integrates a 9-pin D-Sub PROFIBUS DP connector (compliant with EN 50170) with auto-adaptive baud rates (9.6 kbps to 12 Mbps), ensuring compatibility with existing PROFIBUS networks and seamless integration with master controllers (e.g., Siemens S7 PLCs).

• Redundant Power & Robust Protection:
  Features dual 24V DC power inputs (reverse polarity protected) to prevent system downtime from single power source failures. Supports a wide voltage range of 18-30V DC, adapting to unstable industrial power supplies. Over-voltage and over-current protection mechanisms safeguard both the gateway and connected devices.

• Configuration & Diagnostics:
  Configurable via Hilscher’s SYCON.net software, allowing users to define data points, set serial parameters (parity, stop bits), and configure PROFIBUS addresses. Built-in diagnostics include real-time status monitoring (link integrity, error counts) and LED indicators (power, PROFIBUS activity, serial communication, faults) for quick on-site troubleshooting.
