Number of ports: Each module contains four serial ports, two network ports, and one debug port.
Serial port: Each serial port has a unique address and can be configured as a Modbus master or slave. Among them, serial port # 1 supports
Modbus or Trimble GPS interfaces, and serial port # 4 supports Modbus or Tristation interfaces.
Network ports: Net 1 and Net 2 support TCP/IP, Modbus TCP/IP slave/master, TSA A, Tristation, SNTP, and Jet Direct (for network printing)
protocols. Net 1 also supports peer-to-peer and peer-to-peer time synchronization protocols.
Functional Features
Communication compatibility: Only compatible with Tricon v10.0 and higher versions of the system, allowing Tricon to communicate with
Tristation, other Tricon or Trident controllers, Modbus master-slave devices, and external hosts via Ethernet.
Multi protocol support: Supports multiple communication protocols, making it easy to connect and exchange data with different devices and
systems.
Hot swappable function: Although the hot standby function is not available for this module, the faulty CM3201 module can be replaced
when the controller is online.
Application restrictions
System compatibility: Can only be used in Tricon v10.0 and subsequent versions of the system, not compatible with other versions of the
system.
Module quantity limit: A single Tricon system can support up to four CM3201 communication modules, which must be located in two logical
slots. Communication modules of different models cannot be mixed and placed in one logical slot.
Modbus device quantity limit: Each Tricon system supports a total of 32 Modbus master or slave stations, including network ports and serial
ports.
