Functional Description

The 3300 XL 8mm Proximity Transducer System from Bently Nevada is made up of a 3300 XL 8mm probe, a

3300 XL extension cable, and a 3300 XL Proximitor Sensor. Both static (position) and dynamic (vibration) values

can be measured by the system, which outputs a voltage that is directly proportional to the distance between

the probe tip and the detected conductive surface. Keyphasor reference and speed measurements, as well as

vibration and position measurements on fluid-film bearing machines, are the system's main applications.

The standard API 670 Standard (4th Edition) is fully complied with by the mechanical design, linear range,

accuracy, and temperature stability of the 3300 XL 8 mm 5-meter system. It is not necessary to match or bench

calibrate individual components because all 3300 XL 8 mm proximity transducer systems offer this level of

performance and support full interchangeability of probes, extension cables, and Proximitor sensors.

Each component of the 3300 XL 8 mm transducer system is retro compatible and interchangeable with non-XL 5

mm and 8 mm transducer system components from the 3300 series. The 3300 5 mm probe is compatible with

this system and can be used in applications where an 8 mm probe would be too large for the mounting space.
