Product Introduction

Explosion proof protection: This module provides explosion-proof protection for sensor systems directly connected to the 3500 mechanical protection system, suitable for installation in hazardous areas to ensure safety.

Compatibility: The 3500 internal barrier is fully compatible with the 3500 system, providing a convenient and economical solution for installing all types of sensor systems in hazardous areas.

Installation restrictions: The internal barrier is installed in a dedicated monitor I/O module and requires an IS grounding module to provide explosion-proof protection. Monitors with the three module redundant (TMR) rack option cannot use internal barrier I/O modules because connecting sensors to multiple I/O module inputs can compromise the integrity of the IS system.

Physical Separation: The internal barrier I/O modules increase the depth of the rack by approximately 50 millimeters (2 inches) to provide a 50 millimeter physical separation between safe and hazardous area field wiring, ensuring isolation requirements.

Installation and maintenance precautions

Positioning principle: Combine all internal isolated I/O modules into adjacent rack positions, and place the IS grounding module in a location that is convenient for daily online maintenance.

Maintenance convenience: Considering the convenience of maintenance, it is recommended to position the I/O module adjacent to the rack and ensure sufficient space for maintenance operations.
